Zombie Dash 2017!
On October 7, 2017 the Zombie Apocalypse begins again. On that day, the people of Kokomo will gather in Jackson Morrow Park for an exciting adventure that requires runners to evade the Zombie hoard and complete a 5 kilometer dash for survival of the human race. ARCK is organizing an evening of fun and fright in order to raise autism awareness and bring together our special needs community. This will be our third year for the event. Last year, we had over 140 runners, 85 volunteers including 60 zombies and 31 sponsors raising nearly $10,000!
But we have an urgent message: The Zombie hoard has regrouped and is stronger than ever. We need your help now!!!
Our Zombie Dash will begin at dusk and registered runners will brave a winding course to find safety; behind every tree, beyond every bend, a Zombie lurks and eagerly awaits the chance to steal the runner’s precious flags. Those who survive will receive prizes.
Registration fee is $25 ($20 for students). Register by September 21st to guarantee a T-shirt. On October 7th, final registration/check-in/pre-party starts at 4pm at Jackson Morrow Park near the west entrance. The Fun Run starts at 5:15. Participants in the Fun Run will circle the park once, see all the excitement, but won’t have any Zombies to evade. The Dash starts at 6pm.
It’s not too late to be a sponsor! Contact us if you are interested.
ARCK is a 100% local, and 100% non-profit 501c (3) organization founded in 2008 by parents of children with autism to support families dealing with the skyrocketing rate of autism. We conduct parent seminars on a range of relevant topics including special education law, financial planning, therapy options and more. We also have a lending library, act as student advocates and hold a special kids social group. Our Primary goal with the Zombie Dash is to raise money for an indoor sensory playground, Adventure Island. The purpose is to give children with special needs a safe place to exercise and have fun. Most of all, we are firmly committed to locking arms around these families to support them in any way possible.
Something exciting is happening, and we hope you can be a part of it.
